Return To Our Valley

We’re back in Singapore again! Our first flight was really not so bad. With the extra leg room it was very comfortable. We managed about an hour of sleep, which was good but maybe a mistake. Getting kicked off the plane in Changi it was hard to focus on where we needed to go.

I had been looking forward to taking the skytrain through the Jewel shopping centre, over the waterfall, but it had been stopped for the night. The delay in departing meant we should have arrived at 00:20 but we actually got there at 01:40. The skytrain stops each night at 01:30 for maintenance. Oh well, we get a bit of a walk.

End Of Our Honeymoon

What have I done?! Why am I contorted into these shapes? I’ve spent the last 30 minutes with my weight on my hands. My hands are not used to my weight! Who’s idea was it to do yoga?!

Relaxation Culmination

Dawn broke, and I was up early again for some yoga. Aimi was all curled up in bed sleeping, so I snuck out and down to the studio.

Uno Bollocks

This really is a beautiful hotel. It’s very comfy, not so expensive, quiet, and has a great pool. All leading to over indulgence in the sun. We aren’t very practised sunbathers, so we got caught out. Must wear a T-shirt all day today.

Well here starts our last days of relaxation before returning to reality.

Wreck Diver

I spent last night reading the last few chapters of my course in preparation for today. Today I’m going inside the wreck properly and training the skills needed to stay safe and manage risk. This is beyond Aimi’s qualification because its deeper and boring if your not doing the course so she’s gone off with another guide for a fun dive.

Open Water Diver

Aimi has been training these last few days with a chinese girl called Luna. Shes very enthusiastic and enjoys waving when saying hello or good bye, its very cute. Her English is incredibly good, only the occasional word pronounced wrong but really, she’s fluent. I know native born Englishmen who have a hard time using the language.

Emerald Bay Turtles

This morning started very uncomfortably. Whilst we may have conquered the mountain of food last night, we were paying for it this morning. Both of us just had a plate of fruit for breakfast, and I didn’t even finish all mine. I was still full and uncomfortably bunged up.

Liberty Wreck

This morning we were up and breakfasted, ready to go with German efficiency. Today Aimi carries on her course under the tutelage of Ricardo, the German owner of the dive resort. I’m off to the local wreck, USAT Liberty with the chubby ozzy and a local guide.

Aimi Takes The Plunge

It’s taken a lot of convincing, support and fun dives, but Aimi has decided to get her Open Water certificate in diving.
