Big Boobed Bored Bird

Returning to Japan, there are some things we have already done that we want to do again, like TeamLab Planets, and other things we didn’t do that we wish we had, like the Sky Tree.

The hostel WiFi password is “checkout10am”, just in case you didn’t know. I made sure to be out on time, but still feeling a bit sluggish, I luxuriated in a lie-in. I had been up late chatting to a French girl called Lena and a Canadian lad called Doug about their travels. While waiting for my laundry to dry, they gave me the name of a good sushi restaurant for a date night.

The £16-a-night hostel is amazing. For the money, you really cannot ask for more.

Crazy Teppenyaki

One wrong turn out of Banff and we got on our way back to Calgary. I’ve got the hang of this RV thing now. The roads are huge here and the campsites all set up for touring, makes things so easy. I’m not sure it would be so easy in the UK.

Skytram Trek

We walked so far today.

SO FAR!

Aimi’s brilliant idea was to walk from our campsite to the Skytram. It was 6.1km there following some tracks but the main hill up to the cable car was following the road. It took so long to walk that road, the shuttle bus driver passed us twice and decided to pull over to give us a lift the last kilometer to the top.

Malign Tyre

The helpline said it was fine to drive the van slowly so I did… sort of. They wanted me to drive at 45kph which would have taken 3 and half hours to get to Jasper. So I went just a little quicker and did it in and hour and half.

Ethan is a really cool guy. Very chill and keen to give us the best experience possible without frightening or pushing us too far… but just far enough to get the most out of the Rocky’s.

Golden Skybridge Rest Day

It was not restful.

Breakfast should not be this many colours. Honestly, who thought radioactive blue was an appetising colour? Let alone green, red and yellow. And I don’t care how many times you tell me they are “naturally flavoured” they still taste like someone else’s old chewing gum.
