Wedding Dress Deliberations

Our Celebrant, Ashton, made a comment to us that the registrar’s office would be “open to accept documents in February…” which caught us off guard.

February is just the other side of Christmas…

And that’s only a few months away…

Suddenly it was clear we needed to start organising stuff!

We had gotten the major things organised, like where, when and who to marry us. We have even found an amazing place to stay that will make our stay a bit magical! But then we relaxed and hadn’t done much else in a few months.

So today we are up near Edinburgh so Aimi can meet and talk dresses with Lubi and I’ll be told what colour I’m allowed to wear. And that’s fine by me. I’m not a high style guy (can you tell?) preferring comfort and practicality first and then paying only a modicum of attention to what it looks like. Jeans and t-shirts are my norm. But for a once in a lifetime event where we are getting nice photos taken, I want to look good.

So after meeting Lubi and enjoying her energy and tea with no milk, I was kicked out to wander the streets. Obviously, I’m not allowed to know what they are talking about, even tho Aimi said she would rent a dress “because you only wear it once and its so expensive…” but now its come to it, shes getting one made…

Eventually I found myself in a coffee shop called Lavender Coffee & Crumbs which allows dogs and does good Italian inspired cafe food. Here I was able to sit comfortably and do some work while Kayto was fussed by passing patrons. We basically don’t support businesses that don’t allow dogs. In our opinion, if you allow kids, you should allow dogs as I guarantee kids are messier, louder, take up more space and more likely to ruin an atmosphere than a dog.

I sat in the cafe for a couple hours in a stupor, ignorantly scrolling google for men’s fashion… things. I’m so out of touch with fashion that I don’t even know what to google, where to look or what is in style to start this task! In the end I followed a Pinterest thread of breadcrumbs and found things that I like. They are not necessarily wedding-worthy, but hopefully Lubi can help point me in the right direction. I stopped when my targeted ads started getting a little strange…

After a while kayto got bored so we went for a walk in the mist and found some coos before being called to pick Aimi up.
