Partial Finger Amputation

Things happened so fast and before I knew it I was bleeding. Quite badly. I rushed down to the kitchen and put my hand under the tap. The end of my finger almost completely flopped off and I suddenly knew I had to go to A&E right now.

Gear Sequence

Not much to say about today. Aimi basically only talked to me about how to get dressed. Kinda the opposite of what a red blooded male enjoys.

Portmerion & Porthmadog

Don’t go to Portmerion. The best way I can describe it is like a theme park for old people, where the only ride is “getting a coffee”.

Aberdunant Welsh Roads

After a far more stressful weekend than I deserved, we are off to Wales again on the bikes. Now I’ve graduated to ‘Fair Weather Rider’ from ‘Only Method Of Transport’, we don’t ever go out unless it’s looking pristine. This is why I was surprised Aimi wanted to ride in the rain. Usually she’s reluctant unless the weather porridge is just right… but this trip she WANTS to ride in the rain! I’m not about to dissuade her, I’m hoping she will come to Dragon Rally next year.

Farmhouse Rally

The house where we are staying is pretty nice but nothing architecturally amazing. It’s a 50’s (if i guess correctly) extension on a much older farmhouse, so half the doorways were made for people Genevieve’s height. It’s got some beautiful exposed wood beams and luckily i fit under those. White painted exterior and tastefully modern interiors, furnished simply (with beds that have ends…) But the location is about as beautiful as is possible in the UK.

Biker Miles

For a bed with an “end” I actually slept quite well! I’m sure the relaxing hot tub and sauna, combined with some muscle relaxant beers helped a little. But this morning dawned with me feeling better than I do in my own bed to be honest, even if this bed did have an end!

New Bike Goodies

It’s always exciting to get new goodies, but especially so when it’s for a new bike!

Shrewsbury Steam Fair

No walk needed for the dogs this morning (other than the obligatory squat n pop) We are going to the most British thing you can do during the spotty British summer. We are off to Shrewsbury Steam Fair!

Le Whoop 24hr

My lovely Aimi granted me Friday night away, so I didn’t have such an early morning to deal with. This meant I could get there and have a chilled evening drinking with James and Cerb, Sam and Karolina, smashing down Pringles and Haribo bears.
