Getting Further From Canada

We got a deal including parking so started our holiday early with a wonderful dinner and stay at a hotel near the airport. My faith in the chef was rewarded, the mackerel starter and seabass main I had were both incredible. Tasty 241 cocktails followed before early-ish to bed ready for our lift to the airport. Once again Aimi wanted to be REALLY early but its an excuse for a relaxed breakfast where I ordered way too much!

No Puppy Paddling

Who’d have thought 3 pints after a hot walk would have been a bad idea? I had to admit that this morning I felt a little hung over, but it was worth it.

Whernside & The Viaduct

Today was chosen as the Big Walk day becasue of the weather. Incredibly, its a bank holiday weekend with glorious weather. But today is the most overcast and coolest, so its the best day for a walk.

Dear Caves

Sliding open the door this morning Daito bounded out and I was grateful for the awning keeping him penned in. This is only the 2nd or 3rd time ever putting it up, in 10 years of owning the van but even just those few times ive been grateful for it. The extra space is luxurious when the van is so small.

Yorkshire is really not that far away, just a couple hours and its absolutely beautiful.

Return To Normality

For our last day we are in Oslo and because i did such a good job finding a hotel, Aimi is not complaining about being in a city, thank you very much.

Over Indulgence

Last night was awful. Without wanting to put anyone off their porridge, I spent the whole night vomiting up and pooping out everything I had ever eaten since I was 5.

Indulgence

After dancing all night we rose very slowly. I managed to side step a hang over by being the designated driver and so hadn’t drunk. Somehow Aimi had been drunk and still managed to wake, daisy fresh.

Wedding in the Fjords

The main event and the reason for coming to Norway was just hours away. Leaving Aimi to do her makeup, I met Angus and Scott at the bakery for coffee and cinnamon buns. A beautiful morning, it looked like the forecasts were wrong on this important day.

Boulder Problem

Even though I haven’t climbed properly for a fair while I still identify myself as a climber. Aimi and I enjoy trips like this where we can randomly clamber over rocks. The ones we found today are part of a huge rock slide and a UNESCO Global Geopark. Apparently it’s one of the largest scree slopes in the world at over 100 meters thick. Not wide… THICK.
