We were up far too late last night watching the sunset from the roof of the cabin. This far north it doesn’t get dark till well gone 11pm and then it starts getting light early. Mini Troltunga

One of the most iconic photos taken in Norway is the Trolltunga. A spear of rock way up on the cliff side reaching out over the edge. You can walk out upon it, if you dare, for a gravity defying photo. However, its popularity is such that there are long queues of over an hour, despite an 8 hour round trip hike! I’m quite social, but when in nature I enjoy the solitude so a gaggle of cruiseship gawpers is not ideal. Aimi just hates everyone. We therefore opted for a mini version called Himakånå.

Haugesund

The centre of this town is quite literally the port wharf. Where there used to be bustling fishing and cargo boats, now bob small ferries and yachts. The cobbles from yesteryear either replaced, or pressure-washed of all history, face the water. And the tall and impressive warehouse buildings now gentrified, painted neatly with glass fronted bars and restaurants.
