Whoops, Wobbles and Clear Spring Bubbles

Well we tried…

Getting into Tokyo centre, we walked underground (which is why you dont see anyone on the streets in some places) towards the Imperial Palace. We crossed a huge, now largely decorative, moat into the outer park where there must have been thousands of short trees with perfectly smooth cut grass all around. Arriving at the gates, we had thought we could just walk around the formal gardens but apparently you either need to book in advance using a complicated form in Japanese, or line up in the morning and hope you get a spot on a tour, of which there were none left.

Damn it.

But we did get to see some rather skittish horses practicing their carriage parade.

Grabs Ghibli

Well they say while travelling you’re going to get a runny butt at least once. So that’s where my morning went. Down the tubes. But it gave us time to plan some of our next trips before popping (read that correctly) a couple Thai imodium to bung me up for the day.

Where Are We Now?

The drama is over, but the travels are not. We had our delayed short flight, Kuala Lumpur to Ho Chi Minh. And caught our new long flight with extra legroom (I’m nearly as excited about the legroom as the destination). And now we just have a short hop to reach somewhere Aimi has wanted to go for a VERY long time…

Butterflies and Anxiety

Today we planned to go walking around town, so because it gets really hot, we tried to get out early. But hotel breakfasts are just great. There is so much choice but noticeably, no pork products. We suspect the influence of the Muslim society here. The closest thing they had was chicken sausages, which tasted pretty good. Or if that didn’t tickle your pickle, how about dahl curry… for breakfast?

Attractive Engineering

We had had enough of the sketchy apartment so today we packed up and moved. We are going to a proper hotel, and its only costing us +£10 per night compared to this scabby place. Its remarkably cheap to get a REALLY nice hotel in Kuala Lumpur. We thought we would be smart and save a few quid with a cheap apartment, but you get what you pay for. Also, being a relatively cheap country, now is the time to enjoy some luxury. It’s our honeymoon afterall. We wont be able to afford it in more expensive countries.
