Not much to say about today. Aimi basically only talked to me about how to get dressed. Kinda the opposite of what a red blooded male enjoys.
On the way here she was very annoyed that her gloves weren’t waterproof, but I wasn’t convinced. I think they just filled up with water as it trickled down her arms and in the cuff. So today she spent 20 mins trying to put her gloves under her jacket to avoid this.
But that meant she had to put her gloves on first, then her jacket.
But it’s really hard to put a helmet on with gloves, so that had to go on before the gloves and jacket.
And then, she wants the heated vest on, and tucked into her trousers so it doesn’t wick up water from outside the bottom of her jacket. So that has to go on before the trowsers, and there jacket and the gloves and the helmet.
But don’t forget to untuck the cable, and the controller, you need access to that on the bike. So don’t do up your jacket yet, but you need to put it on before you go outside because its raining.
It was a very confusing dance putting on and off various items of motorbike clothing to get the sequence just right. But finally we were off into the welsh rain. We got as far as Bala and it was time for a cup of tea. Aimi needed a wee and I needed to put a jumper on. I can’t believe it’s so cold already!
After this, we just grim and bared it home. As we left Wales the roads got worse but the weather got better. And by the time we got home we had beautiful sunshine. Definitely a ride of 2 halves.
