Indulgence

After dancing all night we rose very slowly. I managed to side step a hang over by being the designated driver and so hadn’t drunk. Somehow Aimi had been drunk and still managed to wake, daisy fresh.

After a slow breakfast we wandered along to the bakery again and had ourselves a cinnamon bun and coffee. The coffee at the hotel was meh, and this gave us something to do while the rest of our friends woke.

Around midday we head over to Ben and Becki’s house where people were meeting. We spent the afternoon chatting and eating left over Thai food. It was lovely weather and so sitting on the grass chatting was all the plan we needed.

I did borrow a canoe for a while. Aimi hopped in and we took a short paddle over to an island with some cliffs Ben said you could jump from. Aimi was not convinced she could see a deep enough part to jump in and so forbade me, which became the reported reason I didn’t do it. Nothing to do with me chickening out because the cliff was very high and the water very cold.

After a paddle back, I did jump in from the shore. As soon as i hit the water and my balls jumped up inside my chest, I scrambled back out again. Luckily with the sun out it didn’t take long to dry off and warm me up.

It was also nice to meet one of Becki’s friends who was also into GeoCaching. I’ve now got about 125 finds, but she has over 5000! I’ve been collecting a few in the walks around this holiday and she told me there was one just asking the shore from us. Becki’s sister and Carly were GeoCaching muggles and wanted to know what it was, so u took them along to find their first one.

Hours of chatting and laughing later it was time to say our goodbyes. We had loved being part of their wedding and felt honoured to have been invited. We had big hugs to keep us going till we saw them next and set off back to the AirBnB the others had rented.

Apparently I hadn’t had enough fun in the water, so when Angus got out the paddle board I followed. This was a real challenge because mine was missing a fin meaning it would not glide in a straight line thru the water. Angus’s board was carving a beautiful line up the fjord and i was battling to keep it pointing in the right direction. Not only that, but i was struggling to stay on it and eventually returned to the bank wet up to my waist.

This time there was a hot tub to warm up in before going back indoors for yet more Thai food.
